Review:
This is truly a whisky that stands out. If memory serves me, it is a bit like the old Bunnahabhain 12 year old. You sort of think that the peat is just about to make its appearance, but it never does really. That can be good or bad depending on your mood. Of course, knowing this you wouldn't reach for a Bruichladdich Infinity 3rd Edition if you were looking for some heavy peat pleasure.
The taste is also quite unique. Its sort or reminds me of toast that's a bit burned. Also there is some marzipan in there, together with what I would describe as charcoal.
It's an interesting malt to be sure. I always find myself pausing and trying to find better words to describe it, but it won't let me do so easily. Maybe that is a result of my own limitations, but I still maintain that it is a very strange whisky. Give it a go, it will probably surprise you too!

I think I've identified the "weird" part of the taste. It reminds me of Jack Daniels, which is even weirder since I don't like that whiskey at all.

The Infinity bottling has now finished (details are here http://bit.ly/xj0iFn). For clarity, from now on, any of our peated whisky produced at Bruichladdich is under either the Port Charlotte or the Octomore label.
